2016 Fun Fest Contemporary Christian Concert – Newsboys and Crowder

KINGSPORT, TN – The 2016 Fun Fest Contemporary Christian Concert will be held at the J. Fred Johnson Stadium in Kingsport, TN on Thursday July 21 featuring Newsboys and Crowder.

Thursday night’s Contemporary Christian Concert will open up with Crowder. As the David Crowder Band has now put a period at the end of its sentence, a new chapter is emerging for front-man, David Crowder. As the next paragraph begins, David Crowder will take the stage performing with his new collective, simply called, Crowder. Fans can expect more of what they’ve always loved about Crowder through the years – the songs, the worship, musical innovation – and now they get to be a part of the new beginning. Crowder’s debut album, Neon Steeple, was released in May 2014 with the Neon Steeple tour launching alongside it.

The headliner for this year’s Contemporary Christian Concert is Newsboys. If you were to draw up a blueprint for a successful music career, the final plans couldn’t help but resemble Newsboys’ trajectory. They’ve defined Christian music for more than two decades, only to blow up expectations as they’ve recreated themselves again and again. Impossible to pin down, these musical shapeshifters move fluidly between rock and pop, worship and dance, to the delight of their legion of fans. Their live shows exhibit a kind of energy that, if it could be bottled, would power entire cities. Along the way, they’ve sold more than 8 million units and amassed eight Gold® certifications, 33 #1 radio hits, four GRAMMY® nominations, two American Music Award nominations and taken home multiple Dove Awards. In addition, their chart-topping, Platinum®-certified single, “God’s Not Dead,” inspired Pure Flix’s 2014 hit film of the same name and “God’s Not Dead 2″ in 2016.

The concert is presented by Honda Kingsport, Tele-Optics, Inc., Carter-Trent Funeral Homes, 88.3 WCQR, and GRC Construction.
